The Isadora Duncan Foundation is hosting its IX Family Financial Education and Energy Poverty Conference, which will take place on December 18, from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM, at the Fundación Sierra Pambley headquarters (C/Sierra Pambley 2, León). The event can be attended both in person and online.
This conference will focus on two main themes: energy poverty and family financial education.
The event will be inaugurated by Vera López, Councilor for Social Welfare and Youth of the León City Council, and Juan Antonio Orozco, Territorial Manager of Social Services in León. Following this, María García, President of the Isadora Duncan Foundation, will deliver a speech on the foundation’s trajectory in family financial education and energy poverty prevention.
The first session, titled “Energy Poverty Prevention Panel,” will begin at 10:00 AM with a presentation by Alba Fuertes from the Secretariado Gitano Foundation, introducing the employment integration program “TándEM,” focused on renewable energy installation. Next, Paula Gómez, a worker with León City Council’s EMMAS Program (2020-2023), will discuss the “Intervention in Energy Vulnerable Households” project, developed in collaboration with the Isadora Duncan Foundation. This session will conclude with presentations by representatives of the Community Transformation Office of El Rosario City Council (Tenerife), including Yurena Triviño, showcasing actions taken by the CTO, and Amairany Francisco, explaining the implementation and development of the “El Rosario Solar” energy community.
After a 30-minute coffee break, the second session titled “Financial Education Panel” will begin. The first speaker, Roberto España, Head of the Financial Education Division at the Bank of Spain, will discuss the Financial Education Plan. Following this, María Belén Pérez Gundin, Legal Advisor on Consumer Affairs at the León City Council, will present the services offered by the Municipal Consumer Information Office (OMIC). Next, Coral Zamorano will share economic management successes achieved within the autonomy apartment under the Convivo Project. Finally, Tania Bobis, a social integrator with the Order of Saint John of God, will analyze challenges related to family economy in the asylum program framework.
The conference will conclude with closing remarks by Héctor Alaiz Moretón, Deputy Government Delegate in León.
