The Isadora Duncan Foundation, within the Violence Prevention programme, is organising the 2nd State Meeting on Institutional Economic Violence against Women. It will take place on 4 March 2026 in the city of León.
This second meeting aims to make visible, analyse and discuss the different forms of institutional and structural economic violence affecting women. We focus on those practices and obstacles which, originating within institutions themselves, hinder access to fundamental economic rights and perpetuate situations of inequality and economic vulnerability for women.
The event is structured into four main sections:
-
Establishment and non-payment of child support: the criteria for its determination, the economic and social impact of non-compliance with this obligation, and the existing institutional responses.
-
Access to widowās pension: the administrative, legal and structural difficulties faced by many women in accessing this benefit.
-
Access to free legal aid: the barriers that limit the effective exercise of the right to judicial protection for victims of economic violence.
-
Structural economic violence: the economic inequalities generated by certain policies, regulations and institutional practices.
The event will feature various presentations by expert professionals in the field, who will provide their specialised perspective on the current reality of institutional economic violence, as well as proposals and good practices aimed at its prevention.
This space, in addition to providing information on institutional situations in which economic violence against women can be identified, also aims to encourage the creation and strengthening of networks and synergies among professionals, organisations and stakeholders working to defend womenās rights and combat economic violence.
Attendance will be available in two formats: in person (C/ Sierra Pambley, no. 2 ā León) and online via streaming, with mandatory registration. Participants registered for the in-person format will also receive a documentation dossier related to the theme of the event.
