Isadora Duncan Receives the Meninas 2024 Award

This accolade is granted by the Government Delegation in Castilla y León to individuals and organizations dedicated to eradicating gender violence.

The award highlights the Foundation’s efforts throughout its 40-year history. Over the years, Isadora Duncan has stood out for defending the rights of single-parent families and fighting violence against women.

Meninas 2024 Awards: Committed to a Fairer Society

The award ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Government Delegation in Valladolid, with the attendance of the Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo, and the Government Delegate in Castilla y León, Nicanor Sen, among other authorities. During his speech, Sen praised the work of all the awardees, describing them as a model of commitment to building a fairer society. Before introducing the honorees, Sen also took a moment to remember the victims and those affected by the recent DANA that struck several regions in Spain.

The award was accepted on behalf of the Isadora Duncan Foundation by its president, María García, who attended the event representing the organization.

This year, alongside the Isadora Duncan Foundation, the Meninas 2024 awards were also given to organizations and individuals such as the Simone de Beauvoir Association of León, the VioGen team of the Civil Guard in Benavente, the Official College of Social Work of Palencia, and the CEIP Infantes de Lara in Soria. These awards reflect the collective effort of individuals and entities tirelessly working for equality and the protection of victims of gender-based violence.

The Foundation deeply appreciates this award, as it serves as a significant incentive to continue developing projects and initiatives that promote gender equality and the well-being of families in Spain.
