Violence against women constitutes a violation of human rights. There are many forms of violence, and one of them is obstetric violence. This is a type of gender-based violence that consists of violent practices and/or behaviors perpetrated by the healthcare sector before, during, and after childbirth, leaving physical and emotional consequences for both the mother and the baby.
For this reason, the Isadora Duncan Foundation for Single Parent Families is organizing a “Workshop on Prevention Against Obstetric Violence” aimed at immigrant women, which will be led by a volunteer nurse with expertise in the topic.

This activity is part of the program “Comprehensive Support Point for Immigrant Women” and is funded by the General Directorate of Humanitarian Assistance and Social Inclusion of Immigration and the European Social Fund, and therefore, it is free of charge.
As with all the foundation’s activities, a family support service is offered so that all women who have children in their care and wish to participate can do so. We have an experienced and knowledgeable childcare professional who will take care of the children throughout the activity.
