On Sunday, December 1st, journalist Sandra Camps dedicated her program “In First Person” on Radio Nacional de España to the Isadora Duncan Foundation on the occasion of its 40th anniversary. The program was recorded during the 40th-anniversary events held in León on November 6th.
More than 40 years ago in León, a few working-class women became single mothers, some of them still teenagers. But they had the strength and support needed to help other single mothers who were very lonely and lacked resources to move forward. Thus, from their homes, the Isadora Duncan Association was born, eventually becoming a foundation.
With María as a role model, it has been a pioneer in our country and an international example in its fight to help, support, and defend single mothers in a time when they were rejected and scorned by society.
We would like to thank Sandra and the entire RNE team for their attendance and collaboration in making the 40th-anniversary events a resounding success.
